MON TRÉSOR DEVELOPMENT IN MAURITIUS
Omnicane’s Mon Trésor Development in Mauritius has achieved BREEAM Communities interim certification.
This is the first Interim Certificate that has been awarded in the southern hemisphere for BREEAM Communities.
This site is part of wider 60 year mixed-use development program for the area and is located in the South East of Mauritius and south of the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (SSR) International Airport. Mon Trésor is set to become a modern, sustainable community with a balanced mix of employment, generating business activity for the island and a new residential centre.
Carol as the BREEAM Communities project assessor working with Omnicane's sustainability consultant Ecosis, held a development workshop for the team whilst in Mauritius; and made a keynote presentation about BREEAM Communities for Smart Cities to the Green Building Council of Mauritius in 2016. Phase 1 of the development achieved a Final Certificate rating of "Very Good" in the summer of 2017.
